A tragic incident has shocked the island of Rhodes after an 18-year-old Greek was murdered in Brazil during an armed robbery.

According to reports, the young man—identified as Theodoros—was working a weekend shift at a restaurant when armed robbers burst in shortly after 2:30 a.m. (Greek time). In the chaos that followed, the teenager was shot and died instantly.

Theodoros and his family had relocated from Rhodes to Brazil several years ago for work opportunities. Locals in his home village have expressed disbelief and grief over the senseless loss of such a young life.

His father, Giannis, shared a heartbreaking message on social media:

“Unexplainable pain! Losing you so young is unbelievable. I love you, my son!”

So far, authorities in Brazil have not released further details regarding the circumstances of the attack, nor have they confirmed any arrests in connection with the killing.

The Greek community, both in Rhodes and abroad, has expressed condolences to the family as investigations continue into the fatal shooting.
