Athens has been battered by heavy rain since Monday morning, with persistent and intense downpours turning many central streets and narrow roads into rivers. The swollen waters have caused significant disruption to both pedestrians and vehicles. Around Strefi Hill, small waterfalls have formed along the slopes, sending torrents of water rushing onto the streets, while in Pangrati, roads have been completely submerged.

Athens and several regions across Greece are facing severe weather conditions today, as the National Meteorological Service (EMY) issues warnings for heavy rain, thunderstorms, and hail. The alert covers a wide area, including the Ionian Islands, Epirus, western Central Greece, the Peloponnese, Attica, Macedonia, and Thrace.
