Jackal Attacks 4-Year-Old Girl at Thessaloniki Tavern

The child was bitten on the face and dragged several meters by the animal in an incident that caused panic among customers and staff at a tavern in the Polichni area

A 4-year-old girl was attacked by a wild animal believed to be a jackal at a tavern in Polichni, Thessaloniki, late Thursday night, causing panic among customers and her family.

According to reports, the incident occurred shortly after 11 p.m. while the child was playing in the outdoor area of the establishment. The animal suddenly appeared and attacked the girl.

The animal reportedly bit the child on the face, grabbed her from the back and dragged her for around five to six meters before people at the scene intervened.

The girl’s parents and other customers rushed to help and managed to drive the animal away.

The child suffered facial injuries, including visible bite marks. An ambulance from Greece’s National Emergency Aid Center (EKAB) and police officers arrived at the scene, and the girl was transported to the “Gennimatas” Hospital in Thessaloniki, where she remains under medical care.
