A police pursuit that began in Megara ended in a crash in Keratsini on Monday afternoon, after a motorcycle without license plates collided with a school bus carrying students.

The incident began shortly after 3 p.m. in the Megara area, when police officers spotted the motorcycle traveling without license plates and signaled the rider to stop for inspection.

The driver ignored the order and accelerated, attempting to escape through the Athens–Corinth National Road. Police followed the motorcycle in a chase that continued along the Athens–Corinth route and Schistou Avenue before reaching Salaminos Avenue in central Keratsini.

Motorcycle crashes into school bus

The pursuit came to an end when the motorcycle collided with a school bus transporting students.

The 25-year-old motorcycle driver and his 22-year-old passenger suffered minor injuries in the crash. The students on the school bus were not reported to have been injured.

A video showing the aftermath of the incident captured the motorcycle lying in the middle of the road, while police officers from the DIAS motorcycle unit arrived at the scene and moved to detain the two riders.

Riders taken to hospital and arrested

The two injured individuals were taken by ambulance to Tzaneio Hospital in Piraeus for first aid treatment.

They were later arrested and face charges related to traffic violations and refusing to comply with police instructions.
