Mykonos: 20-Year-Old Hits Pedestrian, Flees Drunk, No License

Suspect arrested by police after fleeing the scene of a hit-and-run in Mykonos while unlicensed and drunk

Two incidents kept police busy on Mykonos in recent days, resulting in two arrests, one for a traffic offense and one for noise pollution.

According to police reports, as also carried by Cyclades24, a 20-year-old foreign national was arrested by officers of the Mykonos Police Subdirectorate in the early morning hours of August 14th.

The young man is reported to have been driving a private car without a driver’s license and while under the influence of alcohol when he struck a female pedestrian and then fled the scene of the accident.

49-Year-Old Arrested Over Loud Music

Separately, in the early morning hours of August 17th, a 49-year-old local woman was arrested on Mykonos. She operated a business subject to health and safety regulations.

According to police, music was being played from the establishment at a volume exceeding the permitted noise limits.

Police checks on businesses across the Cyclades are continuing, aimed at ensuring compliance with the law and addressing noise pollution violations.
