Residents of the Patima district in Chalandri, a suburb of Athens, now have access to a newly completed public square developed by the local municipality. The project aims to improve public spaces, greenery, and recreational infrastructure in the area.

Spanning 1,733 square meters and bordered by Dryopidos, Achaiōn, Anatolis, and Antonis Tritsis streets, the square includes exercise equipment for all ages, gathering spaces, pergolas with climbing plants, and perimeter landscaping with tall trees and shrubs.

A standout feature is the modern, certified playground, designed with safety, inclusivity, and creative play in mind. It includes a play tower, special swings for children with disabilities, a musical seesaw providing interactive play experiences, and a safety floor with 3D graphics to stimulate imagination and creativity.

The municipality also plans to strengthen the area’s infrastructure by constructing a stormwater drainage system in Patima, which has been submitted for funding through the Attica Region’s programs, enhancing flood protection for the neighborhood.
