A well-known Greek rapper was arrested Monday night in the Athens suburb of Nea Smyrni after fleeing a police traffic stop, triggering a pursuit through the area.
According to the information released, the incident began when police attempted to stop the 23-year-old artist for an inspection. Instead of complying, he accelerated on his motorcycle in an attempt to evade officers.
Police pursued the rider through the streets of Nea Smyrni before he abandoned the motorcycle and continued fleeing on foot through nearby side streets.
Officers later located and arrested him.
Authorities said a screwdriver was found in his possession and confiscated. He was then taken to the Nea Smyrni Police Department.
A case file has been opened against him on charges of disobedience and violating Greece’s weapons legislation.
According to the report, the suspect is also the son of a well-known Greek actor with a long career spanning theater, film, and television.
