Unsettled weather will affect several parts of Greece on Tuesday, with changing conditions throughout the day. Cloud cover will be variable, occasionally increasing, while rain and isolated thunderstorms are expected in different regions at different times.
During the morning hours, local rain is forecast for Thessaly, Eastern Central Greece, the Sporades, Evia, Crete, and possibly northeastern Peloponnese. Short-lived thunderstorms are expected mainly in the Dodecanese and the eastern Aegean islands. As the day progresses, rain will spread westward, affecting the Ionian Islands, Epirus, and Western Macedonia after midday, with showers reaching Central Macedonia during the evening. Visibility will be locally reduced during the morning and evening hours across central and northern mainland areas, while patchy frost is expected early in the day in Western Macedonia.
Temperatures will show little overall change. Northern Greece will see values between 0°C and 13°C, with colder conditions in Western Macedonia where lows may drop to -3°C and highs reach around 8°C. Central and southern mainland regions will range from 7°C to 15°C. Western Greece will be milder, with temperatures between 10°C and 17°C, while Epirus will remain cooler at 2°C to 12°C. The Cyclades will see temperatures of 11°C to 15°C, Crete will range from 13°C to 17°C, the eastern Aegean islands from 9°C to 15°C, and the Dodecanese from 13°C to 17°C.
In the Aegean Sea, northerly winds will blow at moderate strength, reaching 4 to 5 Beaufort, while winds in the Dodecanese will be light and variable. In the Ionian Sea, southeast winds will strengthen through the day, starting at 4 to 5 Beaufort and locally reaching 6 Beaufort from midday onward, which may impact marine travel.
In Attica and Athens, skies will be partly to mostly cloudy, with a chance of light rain during the morning, mainly in northern and mountainous areas. Visibility may be locally reduced during early morning and evening hours. Temperatures will range from 11°C to 15°C, slightly cooler in northern suburbs, and winds will be light northerly, reaching near 4 Beaufort in eastern areas.
In Thessaloniki, periods of increased cloud cover are expected. Temperatures will range from 7°C to 12°C, with light and variable winds over the Thermaic Gulf.
