Police in Karditsa have arrested two teenage boys, aged 17 and 18, in connection with the fatal stabbing of 51-year-old singer George Tsitoglou. Surveillance video showing the suspects leaving the house where the attack occurred was crucial in identifying and locating the perpetrators, authorities said.
The singer had been staying temporarily at a friend’s residence when he met with a woman and the two minors. According to police statements, a disagreement broke out over money that the singer allegedly could not pay for drugs. During the confrontation, the 17-year-old fatally attacked Tsitoglou with a butterfly knife, while both suspects subsequently fled the property.
Police confirmed that one of the teenagers admitted to delivering the fatal stab wounds, and both have acknowledged their involvement. The 18-year-old suspect, initially at large, was arrested shortly after the 17-year-old was taken into custody.
Authorities continue to investigate the possible role of narcotics in the incident, examining witness statements and digital evidence. The homeowner, who had allowed the singer to stay in the residence, was questioned and released, with investigators confirming he had no involvement in the crime.
