Moody weather continues to affect all of Greece this week, with topical showers and dense cloud cover. Sporadic thunderstorms are expected throughout the day, concentrated around the eastern mainland. Strong northeastern winds will persist in the northern Aegean, steadily declining by late afternoon.

Cloud cover in Attica as well as Thessaloniki will bring light rain showers in the afternoon, with no significant drop in temperature.

Weather Forecast For Meat Thursday

Westbound winds, rain and thunderstorms will hinder any plans to grill outdoors for Meat Thursday, Greece’s widely celebrated grilling holiday, known locally as Tsiknopempti. Isolated thunderstorms and rainfall will first appear around western Greece, and phenomena will reach the rest of the country mid-afternoon. Heavier topical showers are expected during the evening hours.

Forecasts note a gradual return to normal weather on Friday evening. Fairer conditions will not last, however, as sporadic rain and cloud cover are expected to return on Saturday through the eastern Aegean.
