While rumors about whether the Milwaukee Bucks superstar would finally part ways with the Wisconsin-based franchise were swirling over the past months in a trade, nothing eventuated.
One of the recent stories making the rounds in sports media involved the Greek power forward joining the Los Angeles Lakers. This time, according to Sam Amick, the interest of the illustrious LA-based team to secure the “Greek Freak” has rekindled, with the Lakers ready to make a move.
Amick also reports how the recent media hype Giannis got during last week’s All-Star game could impact other budding “suitors.”

“Watching Giannis Antetokounmpo enjoy the All-Star spotlight the way he did over the weekend, I found myself wondering how the relentless publicity surrounding him might impact the market a few months from now. Take the Los Angeles Lakers, for example, who are widely known to be planning to pursue the Bucks’ superstar with full force this summer,” Amick wrote.
He goes on to underline that even if the Lakers fail to acquire him, “this kind of publicity typically signals to other suitors that they should be prepared to submit serious offers.”
