Evangelos Marinakis on Thursday afternoon presented plans for a new state-of-the-art Georgios Karaiskakis Stadium, unveiling what Olympiacos FC describes as a landmark project that aims to redefine football infrastructure in Greece and establish one of Europe’s most advanced sporting venues.
According to the plans presented, the new stadium will have a capacity of more than 50,000, making it the country’s largest football-specific venue. The project is designed to incorporate advanced technology, multi-purpose facilities, sustainability features and an enhanced matchday experience modeled on leading European stadiums.

Olympiacos says the development will cost more than 250 million euros and will be financed entirely by the club, with no cost to Greek taxpayers.
Club officials underlined that the project is intended not only to serve Olympiacos but also to contribute to the wider regeneration of the Piraeus waterfront by creating an international-standard sports and cultural destination.

The presentation follows Olympiacos’ announcement earlier this week that club president Marinakis would unveil the plans during a live event on Thursday, marking the next step in the club’s vision for a new home to replace the current Georgios Karaiskakis Stadium.
