Olympiacos FC President Evangelos Marinakis is set to present plans for a new Georgios Karaiskakis Stadium on Thursday at 6 p.m. local time during an event at the Municipal Theatre of Piraeus, outlining what the hugely popular club describes as a landmark redevelopment project for its historic home field.

The presentation is expected to reveal the full concept for the stadium, including its architectural design, guiding philosophy and technical specifications. The event will be streamed live on Olympiacos FC’s official YouTube channel and by Ta Nea, allowing fans in Greece and abroad to follow the unveiling in real time.

The project marks the next chapter in the evolution of the Georgios Karaiskakis Stadium, which has served as Olympiacos’ home since its complete reconstruction ahead of the 2004 Athens Olympic Games. The venue has since hosted major international football matches, including the 2023 UEFA Super Cup, and is widely regarded as one of Greece’s premier football venues.

According to recent plans presented to local authorities, the redevelopment is intended to transform the stadium into a larger, state-of-the-art multi-purpose venue while preserving its role as Olympiacos’ historic home. The project is also expected to form part of a broader regeneration of the surrounding the coastal Neo Faliro waterfront area, with upgraded infrastructure and enhanced spectator facilities.
