13 Arrested in Attica Police Operation Targeting Car Theft Ring

A major police operation in northeastern Attica and Athens is underway against a criminal group accused of systematically stealing private vehicles over an extended period

A major police operation is underway in Attica targeting an alleged criminal organization accused of systematically stealing private vehicles, with 13 people arrested so far.

The operation began in the early hours of Monday, in areas of northeastern Attica and Athens. It was carried out by the Property Crimes Department of Spata–Artemida, with support from the Attica Property Crimes Division and the Special Police Operations Unit (OPKE).

According to Greek police, the operation aimed to execute arrest warrants against members of a criminal group involved in the long-term and repeated theft of private cars.

Authorities had already prepared a case file against the suspected members of the organization, leading to the issuing of the arrest warrants.

The police operation remains ongoing, while 13 individuals have been detained so far.
