Search efforts are in full swing in Argolida for a 58-year-old psychologist who has been missing since Friday night (24/7), with worry deepening across the local community.
His disappearance came to light when he failed to show up to care for his elderly mother, as he usually did. His relatives, worried after being unable to reach him, alerted authorities right away, and a large-scale search operation got underway. During the search, the missing man’s car was found abandoned in a hard-to-reach spot in the Iria area. He himself, however, remains missing, deepening the concern of his family and local residents.
Special Disaster Response Unit (EMAK) personnel are taking part in the operation, with drones also being used to check hard-to-access areas and map the wider zone where the vehicle was found. At the same time, officers from the Nafplio Security Division are gathering witness statements and reviewing security camera footage to piece together the man’s last movements.
His car has been taken in for forensic examination, aimed at finding fingerprints, genetic material or other evidence that could help solve the case. According to reports, some foreign nationals have also been brought in for questioning as part of the investigation.
However, no official involvement in the disappearance has been announced so far.
The missing man is well known in the local community, serving as head of Argolida’s Center for Interdisciplinary Assessment, Counseling and Support (KEDASY), where he works as a psychologist and social worker.
The coming hours are considered critical, and the search continues at full pace, with every possibility still on the table.
