Eligible students across Greece can now apply for the 2025-2026 student housing subsidy, with the application period remaining open until July 31, 2026, the Education Ministry announced.
The housing benefit is available to students enrolled in Higher Education Institutions and Public Schools of Higher Vocational Training (S.A.E.K.) who meet the eligibility criteria.
Applications must be submitted electronically through the ministry’s dedicated platform. Applicants must log in using their TAXISnet credentials to complete the process.
Announcing the launch of the application period, Education Minister Sofia Zacharaki acknowledged that rising housing costs continue to place significant pressure on many Greek families.
“The cost of accommodation is a major challenge for many households,” Zacharaki said, adding that the housing subsidy aims to ease the financial burden on students and their families while ensuring equal access to higher education.
She also reiterated the ministry’s broader housing strategy, saying that the government aims to more than double student housing coverage by 2030, increasing accommodation capacity from 7% to 15%. “Supporting the new generation is a responsible choice and an investment in Greece’s future,” Zacharaki said.
