Armed Man Arrested After Searching for Ex at Cafe

Police in northern Greece arrested a 40-year-old man after he allegedly entered an internet cafe carrying a handgun while looking for his former partner.

Police in the northern Greek city of Thessaloniki arrested a 40-year-old man after he allegedly entered an internet cafe armed with a pistol while searching for his former partner, authorities said.

The incident took place during the early hours in the Toumba district, causing alarm among staff and customers at the business.

According to police, the man arrived at the cafe carrying a handgun and asking for his 34-year-old ex-partner, who works at the establishment. The woman was not at the premises at the time of the incident.

The suspect reportedly left shortly afterward when police were alerted.

Arrest After Police Search

Following an extensive search operation, officers located the man driving in the Neapoli area of Thessaloniki.

Police said the suspect resisted arrest when officers attempted to detain him.

During the search, authorities found and confiscated two pistols as well as €878 in cash.

Multiple Charges Filed

A criminal case has been opened against the suspect on charges including weapons law violations, domestic violence, resisting arrest and attempted bodily harm. The man was taken before the relevant prosecutorial authority for further legal proceedings.
