Nighttime traffic restrictions will begin on Monday evening on Attica Road, Greece’s main motorway serving the Athens metropolitan area, due to construction works at the Metamorfosi interchange.
The exits leading from Attica Road to the Athens–Lamia National Road will be closed for vehicles travelling toward Lamia at the Metamorfosi junction (A6).
The restrictions will apply only during overnight hours, from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., on Monday, July 13, and Tuesday, July 14, as part of planned works to modify the interchange.
During the closure, vehicles approaching from either Markopoulo or Elefsina and heading toward the Athens–Lamia road in the direction of Lamia will be redirected toward Piraeus before making a U-turn.
Vehicles weighing up to 3.5 tonnes will be able to turn around at the Vrioulon Bridge area in Nea Filadelfeia, while heavier vehicles over 3.5 tonnes will be redirected to the turnaround point near Dyrrachio Street in Peristeri.
Drivers using the route during the affected hours are advised to follow the temporary traffic arrangements in place.
