A murder-mystery is unfolding over the death of a 73-year-old man who was found in the yard of his home in Pieria, northern Greece, on Wednesday morning.

He was discovered by a neighbor, who alerted the authorities, and the initial indications suggested a death from natural causes, with no signs of anything suspicious.

However, following a forensic examination carried out Thursday, cranial injuries were found on the victim, along with broken ribs and internal bleeding.

All of these injuries appear to have occurred 12 hours before his death, leading investigators to now consider the possibility of criminal involvement, specifically homicide. The victim’s son believes his father may have argued with someone and that he was assaulted, resulting in these injuries.
