A disturbing case involving a minor has come to light in the city of Ioannina, in northwestern Greece, where a 14-year-old boy was taken to hospital after reportedly using cocaine with his father.
Greek police arrested the boy’s 36-year-old father on the evening of January 1, following medical confirmation that the teenager had consumed narcotics. Authorities said the case was uncovered when the boy’s mother rushed him to hospital in a poor condition and informed doctors that her son had confessed to using cocaine with his father.
Medical tests confirmed the presence of drugs in the teenager’s system, prompting an investigation by police. According to initial findings, the father and son were inside a car along with another adult when the two men allegedly used cocaine and encouraged the minor to try it as well.
Police said a case file has also been opened against a second adult involved, on charges related to endangering a minor. The investigation remains ongoing as authorities examine the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
The father is expected to be brought before a public prosecutor in Ioannina, facing charges that include exposing a minor to danger and breaching Greece’s drug laws.
