Winds across Greece are expected to gradually weaken over the coming days, leading to a slight increase in temperatures, according to meteorologist Thodoris Kolydas.
In a post on social media, Kolydas said the easing of the northerly winds—a common feature of the Greek summer—will allow temperatures to rise gradually.
Despite the warming trend, current forecast data does not indicate the arrival of a heatwave. Instead, temperatures are expected to remain within normal or slightly above-average levels for this time of year.
“Good morning and happy new month!” Kolydas wrote. “The gradual weakening of the winds will be one of the main characteristics of the weather in the coming days. As often happens during the Greek summer, the easing of the northerly winds will allow temperatures to rise gradually.”
He added that, based on the latest forecast data, heatwave conditions are not expected, with temperatures remaining “within normal to slightly above-normal levels for the season.”
