A 37-year-old Italian tourist has died from injuries sustained in a road accident on the Greek island of Mykonos, two days after the crash occurred.
The woman, identified as Sara Ceccantini, had travelled to the island to attend a bachelorette party. According to police, she was one of four occupants in the vehicle involved in the collision and was seated in the back seat at the time of the accident.
Authorities said the crash involved two vehicles that appear to have collided at an angle. The exact circumstances of the incident remain under investigation.
Legal Status of the Case Changes
The victim was initially transported to hospital following the collision but later succumbed to her injuries.
Police noted that her death changes the legal nature of the case, with the relevant prosecutor being informed as the investigation continues.
Tests carried out on both drivers found no evidence of alcohol consumption, according to authorities.
Second Passenger Remains in Critical Condition
A friend of the victim, who was travelling with her at the time of the accident, was also seriously injured and remains hospitalized in critical condition.
