Knife Attack During Robbery in Thessaloniki, Three Arrested

A 24-year-old Syrian man was injured during a late-night robbery in central Thessaloniki, with police later arresting three suspects allegedly linked to the attack

A violent robbery in the center of Thessaloniki left a 24-year-old man injured after he was attacked by a group of people in the early hours of Wednesday.

According to police information, the incident took place at around 4 a.m. on Aristotelous Street, one of the central areas of the city. The victim, a Syrian national, was approached by a group of five individuals.

Authorities said three young men initially distracted the 24-year-old before allegedly attacking him. The victim was beaten and injured with a knife during the assault, while the attackers took his jacket and mobile phone.

The injured man was transferred to a hospital in Thessaloniki, where he received medical care for his injuries.

Three Suspects Arrested

Following a police search operation, officers from the Crime Prevention and Suppression Department located and arrested three men aged 17, 20 and 23.

A case file was opened against them for robbery committed jointly, disobedience, and violations of weapons legislation. The suspects are expected to appear before a prosecutor.
