A man was found dead with plastic tie wraps around his neck in a suburb of Athens on Monday night.

The body was discovered around 8:30 p.m. on a roadside in Pallini. The victim’s identity and age have not yet been determined.

Police said the man had two plastic ties fastened around his neck, with their ends positioned in opposite directions. Investigators noted that this detail could point to multiple possible scenarios, including self-inflicted causes.

However, authorities have not ruled out foul play.

Local residents reported that they had not seen any suspicious activity in the area earlier in the day, raising the possibility that the body may have been left at the scene by unknown individuals.

This has added to the uncertainty surrounding the case, as investigators work to determine whether the man died at the location or was moved there.
