Authorities in Greece are continuing a manhunt for a 64-year-old suspect accused of sexually assaulting a 25-year-old woman with disabilities inside her home, as new witness accounts and allegations deepen the case.

The incident took place on the morning of February 21, when the victim’s mother briefly left their apartment. Upon returning minutes later, she found the man—known to the family—inside the home and allegedly assaulting her daughter.

According to the mother’s account, she confronted the suspect and struck him with a frying pan. A struggle followed, during which the man allegedly assaulted her before fleeing the scene. She then chased him out of the apartment building.

The 25-year-old woman remains under medical supervision, while authorities await the results of forensic examinations. Initial findings, according to the family, indicate that the victim was not physically harmed, though the investigation remains ongoing.

Police say the suspect has turned off his phone and remains at large. Officers are searching areas in central Athens and nearby suburbs and believe he may be receiving help to evade arrest. Authorities have ruled out the possibility that he has left the country.

New testimonies have further intensified the case. A neighbor claimed that the suspect’s daughter had previously alleged that he attempted to sexually assault her when she was a child—an accusation the neighbor initially did not believe.

In a separate statement, the suspect’s daughter reportedly confirmed that she had experienced similar abuse in the past, describing fear and silence during her childhood. She also alleged that her father denied the accusations and attempted to discredit her.

Additional reports suggest that the suspect had previously been seen entering a residence with a woman in a wheelchair under unclear circumstances, raising further concerns about his behavior.

The case has shocked the local community, particularly given that the suspect had built trust with the victim’s family and had reportedly offered help with daily tasks.
