The autopsy of Greek singer Giorgos Mazonakis has been completed, but forensic experts have not yet determined the cause of his death.
The examination was conducted in the presence of forensic pathologists Kalogria and Kouvaris, as well as technical advisers appointed by both Mazonakis’ family and the two doctors from Kolonaki who have been arrested in connection with the case.
The two-hour forensic examination did not reach a clear conclusion about the circumstances that led to the singer’s death.
Toxicology and histology results awaited
The forensic experts are now awaiting the results of toxicological and histological tests, which are expected in about a month.
According to information cited in the report, Mazonakis suffered myocardial ischemia, a reduction in blood flow to the heart muscle. However, forensic experts are seeking to establish what caused the condition, which they expect laboratory testing to clarify.
A death certificate has already been issued, allowing preparations for the singer’s burial to proceed.
