Μake us preferred on Google Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis met Tuesday with Afroditi Nestora, a New Democracy politician in Thessaloniki, nearly two months after a deadly arson attack at her home in Greece’s second-largest city.
The meeting took place at the Maximos Mansion, the official office of the Greek prime minister.
Nestora’s mother was killed in the attack, while Nestora, her father and other residents of the apartment building were seriously injured.
During the meeting, Mitsotakis and Nestora also discussed the prospects and development of Thessaloniki.
Nestora calls for terrorism to be eradicated
In a statement following the meeting, Nestora thanked Mitsotakis for his invitation and support following the attack.
“I had the honor of meeting Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis at his office at the Maximos Mansion,” Nestora said.
She said she thanked the prime minister for his support after what she described as the “terrorist attack” on her home, which resulted in her mother’s death, her own serious injuries, and injuries to her father and other residents of the building.
The discussion, she said, highlighted “the urgent need for terrorism to be eradicated” and for the political world to stand united against it “in words and deeds.”
Nestora also said she and Mitsotakis discussed Thessaloniki, its prospects and its development trajectory.
