New evidence has emerged in the case of Laura, the 16-year-old who went missing after leaving the southern Greek city of Patras earlier this month, offering investigators fresh leads on her movements in Athens.
According to newly released footage obtained by To Vima, security cameras recorded Laura in the Goudi area of Athens. The video places the teenager in the Greek capital days after her disappearance, confirming that she traveled hundreds of kilometers from her hometown.
Shortly before she was captured on camera, Laura had entered a local café, where she reportedly asked staff for access to the establishment’s Wi-Fi. Moments later, cameras in the surrounding area recorded her walking alone, with no one visibly accompanying her.
Taxi Driver Describes Last Known Ride
The last known person to have seen Laura was the taxi driver who transported her from Patras to the Athens area of Zografou. Speaking publicly, the driver said he was unaware that his passenger was a minor.
“I was paid, and there is a receipt from my taxi,” he said, stressing that the trip appeared entirely routine.
According to the driver, Laura remained silent throughout the journey and asked to be dropped off a short distance away from her intended destination. He said nothing during the ride raised concern.
“We didn’t exchange more than a few words,” he said. “If I had known she was a 16-year-old girl, do you think I would have taken her?”
The driver added that Laura appeared calm and spent much of the ride applying makeup. He said he did not see a phone in her hands and assumed she was a university student.
