Greek authorities are continuing their investigation into the death of a 24-year-old woman who fell from the seventh floor of an apartment building in the Kallipoli district of Piraeus on Friday evening.
According to initial findings, investigators are considering the possibility of suicide, while forensic and digital examinations remain ongoing to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the tragedy.
The woman’s 50-year-old partner, who lived with her in the apartment, gave a statement to police as part of the preliminary investigation. According to reports, he told officers that he was inside the home at the time of the incident and was in the bathroom when the fall occurred.
Police officers who arrived at the apartment reportedly found no signs of a struggle or disturbance inside the residence. Authorities are also expected to look for additional evidence during the forensic examination of the woman’s body.
Investigators have seized digital evidence in an effort to establish a clearer timeline of events and fully reconstruct what happened before the fatal fall.
Residents in the neighborhood described the couple as quiet and said they had never caused problems in the area.
The incident took place at approximately 7 p.m. on Friday, May 15. The 24-year-old woman was transported unconscious to Tzaneio Hospital, where doctors confirmed her death.
According to the report, it was her partner who alerted emergency medical services after the incident.
