Reality Show Winner Returns After Life-Changing Accident

Stavros Floros continues his rehabilitation after losing his left leg in a boating accident during a break from filming the reality show Survivor in the Dominican Republic

The winner of a reality show returned to Greece on Thursday nearly two months after losing his left leg in a boating accident during a break from filming the “Survivor” competition in the Dominican Republic.

Stavros Floros, who was awarded the season’s 250,000-euro grand prize after producers ended the competition early, had been undergoing specialized treatment and rehabilitation in Miami following the accident, which resulted in the amputation of his left leg.

The 21-year-old revealed his return through a post on his Instagram account, sharing a photograph of himself smiling while seated in a wheelchair at an airport.

The accident occurred while Floros was spearfishing off a beach in the Dominican Republic. He was struck by the propeller of a tourist boat, sustaining life-threatening injuries before being airlifted for treatment and later transferred to a rehabilitation center in Miami.

The incident prompted producers to halt the season before its scheduled conclusion, with the program awarding Floros the 250,000-euro prize in recognition of his ordeal.
