Greek consumers are closing out November with open shops this Sunday, one of only four Sundays between now and the end of 2025 when retail stores are permitted to operate.

Most shops will open from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm, though stores in central locations and major shopping malls are expected to extend their hours, opening earlier and staying open until 8:00 pm.

This retail Sunday follows Black Friday, while Cyber Monday arrives tomorrow (December 1), keeping consumer interest high.

Supermarkets: Who’s Open

Several supermarket chains will operate today, offering extended hours for weekend shoppers.
LIDL and MyMarket will open from 11:00 am to 8:00 pm, as will Market In.

Other major chains—including Sklavenitis and AB Vassilopoulos—are opting to stay closed, a decision also expected from Masoutis and Galaxias unless plans change unexpectedly. One exception is the Sklavenitis branch at Smart Park in Spata, which will operate from 11:00 am to 8:00 pm.

Many smaller and regional supermarkets—such as Bazaar, OK! Market, as well as selected franchise stores of MyMarket and AB Vassilopoulos—will also run on extended schedules.

December Sundays Also Open
Under current legislation and within the designated discount periods, shops will open on three Sundays in December:
• 14 December 2025
• 21 December 2025
• 28 December 2025

On these dates, retail stores will operate from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm, while shopping malls and major commercial centers will stay open until 8:00 pm.

These extra shopping days traditionally mark the start of the holiday rush, giving consumers more opportunities to complete their seasonal purchases and retailers a significant boost during one of the busiest periods of the year.
