New details have emerged about an accident in Spetses, in which a tourist boat was involved in an incident that left a woman injured near the old harbor of the island.
According to updated information, the injured woman is a 40-year-old foreign national, a passenger on a commercial tour boat. During docking maneuvers, she reportedly lost her balance and fell into the water under circumstances still being clarified. As she fell, she was struck by the boat’s own propeller, sustaining a minor injury to her leg.
She was taken immediately to Argos General Hospital, where she received first aid and underwent examinations.
The boat’s captain, a 40-year-old Croatian national, was arrested by Coast Guard officers and is being held as part of the preliminary investigation into the exact circumstances of the incident. Authorities are examining all possibilities, while the woman’s condition continues to be closely monitored by her doctors. The Spetses Port Authority is continuing its investigation, awaiting witness statements and the results of technical inspections of the vessel.
