The decision came after the minor admitted full responsibility for the incident during his court appearance, apologizing to the victim and her family.
Teen admits responsibility
According to his testimony, the teenager said he panicked after realizing what had happened and fled the scene out of fear. He expressed remorse and stated he is willing to assist the victim and her family in any way possible.
He also told authorities that he used the motorcycle involved in the accident primarily to commute to work.
A 22-year-old friend who was with him at the time supported the same account, also apologizing and citing fear as the reason for leaving the scene. The 22-year-old was released under restrictive conditions.
Victim shows signs of recovery
The 16-year-old girl remains hospitalized but is now showing encouraging signs of improvement. Doctors have removed her from mechanical ventilation, and she is breathing on her own.
Medical staff report that she is responsive, able to recognize her parents, open her eyes, and display slight movement—an indication of gradual recovery following her critical condition.
