A serious accident occurred on Wednesday around midday in western Thessaloniki when an electric bus crashed into a bus stop. The incident happened at about 1:00 PM at the KAN-KAN stop on Andrea Papandreou Street in Neapoli, where residents were waiting for public transit.
According to information available so far, cited by thestival, at least four people have been injured. Two of the injured have serious wounds, with fractures from the pelvis down, while the other two suffered lighter injuries. All four were taken to Papageorgiou Hospital.
One of the injured, a 60-year-old woman, is in serious condition with head injuries.
Initial reports indicate authorities are also examining whether another city bus may have been involved.
EKAV emergency medical crews, the fire department, and traffic police rushed to the scene, and an investigation is underway into the circumstances that led to the collision.
