assengers using Athens Metro Line 3 will face earlier station closures over the next two weeks as crews carry out rail replacement work between Elaionas and Monastiraki.

Elaionas, Kerameikos and Monastiraki stations will close at 9:40 p.m., about two and a half hours earlier than usual, from Sunday, Sept. 27, through Thursday, Oct. 1, and again from Sunday, Oct. 4, through Thursday, Oct. 8.

After 9:40 p.m., Line 3 will no longer run through the affected section. Metro services will operate separately between Dimotiko Theatro and Egaleo, and between Syntagma and Doukissis Plakentias, with airport services also running from Syntagma.

Before the closures, the last Line 3 services toward Doukissis Plakentias will leave Dimotiko Theatro at 9:20 p.m., Egaleo at 9:34 p.m., Elaionas at 9:36 p.m., Kerameikos at 9:39 p.m. and Monastiraki at 9:41 p.m.

In the other direction, the last services toward Dimotiko Theatro will leave Doukissis Plakentias at 9:30 p.m., Syntagma at 9:49 p.m., Monastiraki at 9:51 p.m., Kerameikos at 9:53 p.m. and Elaionas at 9:56 p.m.

Airport Services

The last direct Line 3 service from Dimotiko Theatro to Athens International Airport will depart at 9:06 p.m., while the last direct service from the airport to Dimotiko Theatro will leave at 9:10 p.m.

After 9:40 p.m., airport services will begin and end at Syntagma. Services from Syntagma to the airport will depart at 10:02 p.m., 10:38 p.m. and 11:14 p.m. Services from the airport to Syntagma will leave at 9:46 p.m., 10:22 p.m., 10:58 p.m. and 11:34 p.m.

Replacement Bus Service

To help passengers travel through the affected section after the Metro closes, Athens transport authorities will operate a temporary X24 bus route between Syntagma and Egaleo from Sunday through Thursday.

The service will begin after 9:40 p.m. and continue until the end of regular service, stopping at Syntagma, Omonia, Monastiraki, Kerameikos, Elaionas and Egaleo.

The temporary route will operate in both directions, providing a connection between the two sections of Line 3 while the rail work is underway.
