Two light earthquakes were recorded north, northeast of Athens overnight on Sunday, with the most prominent being a tremor of a magnitude of 4.3 on the Richter scale at 08.56 (06.56 GMT) with an epicenter seven kilometers from the small town of Prokopi, on the large island of Evia.
The quake, with a depth of five kilometers, was felt north of the greater Athens-Piraeus area. Hours earlier, another quake from the same region generated an earthquake measured at 4.1 on the Richter scale.
The same region of northern Evia, mostly near the town of Mantoudi, has yield similar light to moderate earthquakes in the past.
No damages were reported.
