Wildfire Breaks Out in Fthiotida, Aircraft Deployed

A fire broke out Tuesday afternoon in an agricultural area in Anthili, Fthiotida. No residential areas are currently under threat

A wildfire erupted on the afternoon of Tuesday, June 16, in an agricultural area in the Anthili district of Fthiotida, in central Greece.

Firefighting forces mobilized swiftly to contain the blaze, deploying 33 firefighters with 6 vehicles and a foot patrol unit from the 4th EMODE (Special Disaster Response Unit). Two aircraft were also scrambled to assist from the air. Municipal water tankers are providing additional support on the ground.

Authorities confirmed that no residential areas are currently at risk.
