An oxidized grenade believed to date from World War II was discovered Friday morning on a sidewalk in Rafina, a coastal town east of Athens.
The device was found at the intersection of Iroon Polytechniou and Velouchioti streets, according to authorities.
Area cordoned off
Following the discovery, authorities sealed off the area as a precaution.
