It was a unique, unprecedented and “magical” performance, so reminiscent of Olympiacos, the Legend of Greece and Europe’s most successful multi-sports club, on the occasion of the 100-year anniversary of its founding. A stunning drone show totaling 12 minutes began at exactly 19.25, timed to honor the year of Olympiacos’ establishment on March 10, 1925.
The historic drone show capped off three days celebrations and commemorative events for Olympiacos’ centennial.
The show awed people throughout the Athens-Piraeus basin, where it was visible, with images broadcast simultaneously throughout Greece, making millions of people who adore the “Reds” and the laurel-crowned youth proud!
The impressive and innovative 300-drone show, a first for Greece on this scale, was visible from practically every corner of Piraeus and Athens.
With the drone show, a three-day series of events for Olympiacos’ 100 years of existence concluded in an impressive manner.
Events began on Saturday with a theme park set up outside the Georgios Karaiskakis Stadium, a display of the club’s European Trophies, a collector’s edition football uniform that proved to be a smashing success with fans, along with an awesome Choreo seen in the stands during Sunday’s Super League game against OFI Crete.
Piraeus and many other corners of Greece were illuminated by fans for the celebration, while on Monday the Greek Post unveiled a commemorative stamp collection before a display of the European trophies and titles won by all Olympiacos sports team, set up at the Piraeus Municipal Theater for the fans!
Drones resemble the UEFA Conference League Trophy, which Olympiacos won last May, adding the most heralded page to its glorious history.
