Miltos Tentoglou added another win to his tally, dominating the World Athletics Continental Tour Gold meeting in Budapest and taking first place with a best jump of 8.31 meters.
Just days after an impressive 8.61m at the Diamond League meet in Monaco, the Greek Olympic champion confirmed he’s in excellent form, even though he didn’t come close to matching that mark in Hungary.
Tentoglou opened the competition with two jumps of 7.88m and, visibly unhappy, immediately conferred with his coach, Giorgos Pomaskis. His response came quickly: on his third attempt he reached 8.12m, putting him firmly in contention for the win.
On his fourth jump he moved into the lead with 8.18m, followed by 8.19m. None of his rivals managed to displace him from first place, and Tentoglou saved his best for last, soaring to 8.31m on his sixth and final attempt to seal an impressive win.
