UEFA‘s Executive Committee made a series of decisions on the future of Europe’s top club competitions during a meeting in Thessaloniki, held as part of celebrations marking the Hellenic Football Federation’s (EPO) 100th anniversary.
The governing body confirmed host venues for the finals of its major tournaments over the coming years. The Champions League final will return to Munich Football Arena in 2028, before moving to Barcelona’s Camp Nou in 2029.
The Women’s Champions League final is set for Lyon’s Parc Olympique Lyonnais in 2028, followed by Cardiff’s National Stadium of Wales in 2029. The Europa League will conclude at Bucharest’s National Arena in 2028 and Belgrade’s National Stadium Serbia in 2029, while the Conference League final moves to Turin’s Juventus Stadium in 2028 and Budapest’s Puskas Arena in 2029.
UEFA also set the stage for the Super Cup, awarding the 2027 edition to Amsterdam’s Johan Cruyff ArenA and the 2028 edition to Astana Arena in Kazakhstan. The Futsal Champions League final will be held at Biel/Bienne Arena in Switzerland in 2027.
Alongside the venue announcements, UEFA approved adjustments to the promotion and relegation system for the 2026-27 Nations League. The changes are intended to ensure a smooth transition to the competition’s new format, approved in May 2026, under which the Nations League will shift from four leagues to three starting with the 2028-29 edition — a restructuring that will alter how teams move up and down between tiers.
The Executive Committee’s next meeting is scheduled for December 7 in Belfast, one day after the draw for Euro 2028 qualifying, which will also take place in the Northern Irish capital.
