Corfu has been hit especially hard by torrential rainfall that triggered major damage in the northern part of the island.

The first front arrives Thursday night into Friday, bringing rain and storms to the west, central, and northern parts of the country. A second system is due on Sunday.

From Tuesday, temperatures are expected to climb again, reaching unusually high levels for the season.

Rain, snow and cold are expected to set the wintery scene for most of Greece over the weekend as November comes to an end.

The weather will start to improve from the north during the weekend, as rain will gradually shift southward.  On Saturday, the eastern mainland and the Aegean will be most affected by the bad weather.
