Thessaloniki’s Makedonia Airport has been ranked among Europe’s leading airports in its category for the quality of services offered, said managing company Fraport Greece this week.

Thessaloniki Airport stood out for its cleanliness and for serving 5-15 million passengers per year at the “2023 Airport Service Quality (ASQ) Awards”.

The northern port city’s international airport was ranked again among Europe’s best in 2022 during the ASQ Awards, which are an initiative of Airports Council International (ACI).

The ASQ Awards highlight the world’s best-performing airports according to passenger feedback.

“The awards that distinguish Thessaloniki’s Makedonia Airport as one of the leading airports in Europe – and by the passengers themselves – fill us with joy and pride for our company, for all our employees and for our partners as well,” said Fraport Greece CEO Alexander Zinell.

“Our main goal,” he said, “is to contribute to the development of Greek tourism and local societies through the sustainable growth of our company. We are committed to providing a safe and unforgettable travel experience to all passengers.”
