Israel’s military says that Iran has launched a retaliatory attack and is sending over 100 drones from Tehran towards Israel on Friday morning.  It is unclear when the drones will reach Israel, but the military anticipates that it will take a few hours for the drones to arrive.

Israel has warned its citizens to be on alert for a counterattack, following Israel’s strikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities on Friday morning, along with other targets.

Addressing the Israeli public, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned citizens that they may need to spend prolonged periods in shelters.

Meanwhile, in an official statement, Greece’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) issued an advisory for Greek nationals currently in Israel, notifying its citizens to stay in safe locations, near shelters, and to strictly follow the guidance of local authorities.

The MFA It also noted that Israeli airspace remains closed, with no flights operating to or from Ben Gurion International Airport.

US President Donald Trump has called an emergency meeting in the wake of the attack, and is trying to distance itself from Israel’s agressions, with US Secretary of State Marco Rubbio stating that the US is not involved in the attack.

The US plans to recall personnel from the Middle East amid the rising tensions, which reached a new level following Israeli airstrikes early on Friday, June 13, targeting Iran’s nuclear facilities.
