Jeff Mills Brings ‘Tomorrow Comes The Harvest’ to Athens

The Detroit techno legend will perform with Jean-Phi Dary and flutist Rasheeda Ali at Athens’ Theater of Rocks, with electronic musician Max Cooper as a special guest

Jeff Mills will bring “Tomorrow Comes The Harvest” to Athens on Sept. 20, 2026, for a performance at the Theater of Rocks Melina Mercouri, featuring Jean-Phi Dary, flutist Rasheeda Ali and special guest Max Cooper.

The musical collaboration was originally created by Nigerian drummer Tony Allen, one of the pioneers of Afrobeat, and Detroit techno legend Jeff Mills. Together with producer Jean-Phi Dary, the trio developed a shared musical language rooted in a tradition that treats music as a means of spiritual elevation.

“Tomorrow Comes The Harvest” toured internationally until Allen’s death in 2020. The foundations of the project, however, remained in place, allowing the collaboration to enter a new chapter with the addition of Rasheeda Ali on flute.

Improvisation at the center

Improvisation lies at the heart of every “Tomorrow Comes The Harvest” performance, serving as a tool for exploring the unknown and pushing beyond established sonic boundaries.

The musicians move across rhythms and sounds in search of an experience that goes beyond the conventional concert format, turning each performance into an exploration of what can emerge when electronic music, percussion and flute meet in real time.
