The B&E Goulandris Foundation will host a four-session comic workshop for adults inspired by its new Belle Époque exhibition, inviting participants to explore the art of comics through the works of renowned artists from the period.

Titled “A Comic at the Museum”, the workshop will take place on four consecutive Saturdays, October 31 and November 7, 14 and 21, 2026, from 12pm to 2pm. Visual artist and comic artist Dimitra Adamopoulou, also known as Dimi Adam, will lead the sessions, which will be held in Greek at the Foundation’s Library.

Designed for beginners, the program will introduce participants to drawing techniques and guide them through the process of creating their own comic story. The Foundation will provide all necessary materials, and participation is limited to 12 people.

From Belle Époque art to original comics

The workshop will draw inspiration from works featured in the Foundation’s Belle Époque exhibition, including pieces by Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, Alfons Mucha, Théophile-Alexandre Steinlen, Pierre Bonnard, Maurice Denis, Félix Vallotton and Henri-Gabriel Ibels.

Using these artists’ works as a starting point, participants will explore the possibilities of comic art while developing their drawing skills. The sessions will cover drawing the head and human figure, as well as creating backgrounds.

In the final session, participants will bring these skills together to complete their own comic, transforming their initial ideas into a finished story.

Those taking part will also be entitled to one free visit to the Foundation’s permanent Collection and the temporary Belle Époque exhibition on the first day of the workshop.
