Summer Workshop on the Japanese Art of Kintsugi

In Japan, broken ceramics are mended back together with the use of a gold paste and given new life

THE123 art gallery in the center of Athens is hosting a limited series of summer workshops on the pottery mending practice of kintsugi. In the workshops, participants will be working with handmade ceramics and discovering this meditative artform stemming from Japanese culture.

This ancient method of mending broken pottery uses precious metals in a paste-like lacquer, accentuating the piece’s cracks. Kintsugi calls each practitioner to embrace the cracks and imperfections, seeing the beauty in an imperfect world.

Limited seats are available to book through THE123 gallery by phone or by DM on Instagram. All materials are included in admission price.

Location: Thessalonikis 127, Athens, Greece 11852
