Indian forces “landed” on the Greek Navy’s HS HYDRA, as part of a joint training exercise after the frigate participated in the IDEX & NAVDEX 25 international defense exhibition in Abu Dhabi.

The Indian Navy frigate TARKASH and Hellenic Navy frigate HS Hydra conducted a joint naval drill after Greek Minister of National Defense Nikos Dendias had visited the Greek warship.

This exercise took place in the Arabian Sea, where HS HYDRA is currently operating as part of the European Union’s EUNAVFOR ASPIDES, a defensive operation with the aim to protect precious global public goods; freedom of navigation, international trade and maritime security.

India has been closely following the developments in the Arabian Sea and the Indian Ocean, as the wider region is the focus of large maritime trade and commerce. Additionally, the planned India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor (IMEC) holds strategic significance for several countries, including India, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Israel, Cyprus, and Greece.
