Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis held a video call on Monday afternoon with acclaimed British filmmaker Christopher Nolan, congratulating him on the success of his film The Odyssey.
During the conversation, Mitsotakis praised Nolan for bringing Homer’s epic poem to the big screen and thanked him for the film’s contribution to increasing global interest in ancient Greek civilization.
The prime minister said productions such as The Odyssey help bridge Greece’s rich cultural heritage with contemporary creativity, emphasizing the value of introducing classical works to modern audiences.
Mitsotakis also noted the film’s strong box office performance and expressed his appreciation that a significant portion of the production was filmed in Greece, highlighting the country’s role as a major location for the project.
