Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis visited some exhibition booths at the Thessaloniki International Fair (TIF) in a customary tour of the premises.

The prime minister began his tour at Pavilion 1555, stopped by the Armed Forces’ exhibit, and posed for photos with members of the women’s gymnastics team.

He then visited the Formula 1 McLaren single-seater, the Nymfi beer booth, and the European Commission’s pavilion on tourism and culture. At the Helleniq Energy stand, he was presented with a football and a jersey bearing his name. He later headed to the Health Ministry’s pavilion, which showcased innovations in schools.

On Friday, Mitsotakis presented the government’s proposal for the redevelopment of the Thessaloniki International Fair (TIF) grounds during a meeting with the management of TIF-Helexpo.

Mitsotakis made clear that the fair will remain in the city center. The redevelopment project will be overseen by the Hellenic Corporation of Assets and Participations (HCAP) and financed through public spending.

He pledged that the project would move forward swiftly and noted that, in terms of GDP share, Thessaloniki has received more funding for infrastructure works than any other Greek city.

The prime minister also reassured TIF-Helexpo employees that they have no reason for concern regarding their jobs. Addressing Thessaloniki Mayor Stelios Aggeloudis, Mitsotakis congratulated him on improvements to the city’s cleanliness.
